Microsoft Office App (All Users) - Combine Images to Make a PDF

This document provides an overview of how to combine images and make them a PDF using the Microsoft Office App.

Instructions for iOS

  1. Make sure you are signed in with your SIUE account
    Tap the icon or image in the upper left corner of the screen. If this is a personal Microsoft account, sign out and sign in with your SIUE email and password.

  2. Tap the Create button to choose a tool.

  3. Choose the PDF icon.

  4. Tap the Capturing icon.

  5. Line up your document in the frame. Make sure you're in good lighting and avoid shadows if possible.

  6. Tap the white circle to take the image.


  7. Tap Review and Edit. If adding more pages, tap Scan all above the Review and Edit button.

  8. Choose a filter for your image. Document is the best option for removing shadows on the page.

  9. Tap Apply to all to move to save, you'll be taken to a preview screen for your PDF.


  10. Tap the pencil icon to rename your file.

  11. Tap Save to OneDrive.

  12. Name the file with a logical title and folder location. Tap Save.

  13. Access your course via a web browser (bb.siue.edu). In the Blackboard assignment, click the Browse Cloud Storage button. Choose the OneDrive option. Connect to OneDrive if necessary.

  14. Find your file, select it, and click Select. Note: Select button will have the number of files selected behind it.

  15. Tap the Connect to OneDrive button. (this step may not be necessary for all users)

  16. Place a checkmark in front of the file(s) you want to submit. Tap the Select 1 button. (Note: the 1 will change based on the number of files selected.)

  17. Tap Import.

  18. The file will now appear as an attachment. Click Submit to submit the assignment.

  Instructions for Android

  1. Make sure you are signed in with your SIUE account. You may have to tap the screen the first time you use it.

  2. Click the Create (plus sign) icon to choose a file type. Select PDF.

  3. Choose the Lens tool.

  4. Line up your document in the blue lines. Make sure you're in good lighting and avoid shadows if possible. Tap the circle to take the image.

  5. Use the image tools to rotate or adjust your captured image. Click the Add Images icon (camera with plus sign) to add pages.

  6. Tap Review and Edit to move to the next step or tap Scan All to take more images.

  7. Use the arrows to review the images. Additional tools below the image are available to make changes to the images.  Next, tap the Finish button.

  8. Edit the file name then click Save to OneDrive.

  9. Once you have navigated to the folder, click Save Here to save.

  10. Access your course via a web browser. In the Blackboard assignment, click the Upload Files link and then click the Browse Cloud Service button. Choose the OneDrive option. Connect to OneDrive if necessary.

  11. Find your file, select it, and click Select. Note: Select button will have the number of files selected behind it.

  12. Click the Import button.

  13. The file will now appear as an attachment. Click Submit to submit the assignment.
