ITS Labs & Classrooms - Connecting to V-Lab from a Chromebook

The following steps provide an overview of how to connect a Chromebook to V-Lab (Remote Software Access).

    Prerequisites

    • MFA Requirement: You must have the Microsoft Authenticator app configured on your mobile device. V-Lab connection requests require a push notification; text message or phone call verification methods are not supported for this service.

    Connection Steps

    1. Download and install the Microsoft Remote Desktop App app from the Google Play Store.
    2. Download the
    3. SIUE RDP file from the SIUE V-Lab webpage.
    4. Locate and open the downloaded siuevlab.rdp file. This should automatically launch the Microsoft Remote Desktop app.
    5. When prompted for credentials, enter your username in the following format: campus\e-id (e.g., campus\jdoe).
    6. Enter your SIUE password and click Connect.
    7. Check your mobile device for a Microsoft Authenticator push notification. Review the request and select Approve.
