Connecting Share Drive - Personal

This short guide summarizes the steps to connect your personal share drive on Windows.

Please follow the below instructions to connect the personal account share drive. This method will only work on Windows computers.

Please note: the below screenshots are for Windows 11. Options for Windows 10 will be similar but locations may differ.

  • Please open the “File Explorer” / “This PC” application.
  • Select the “This PC” option in the window. [1]
  • Click the ellipses or right click “This PC” to expand a context menu. [2]
  • Select “Map network drive” [3]

  • In the drop-down menu for Drive, select the letter “H:” - This is the letter chosen when the drive is auto added.
  • In the Folder text field, type the following: \\campus.siue.edu\shares$\users\Faculty\[eid]*

      *Replace [eid] with the account eid to be accessed.

  • Be sure the check box is selected to Reconnect at sign-in.
  • Select "Finish" to complete connection. You will now find the share drive within the "This PC" section.
