Share Office 365 Files with Someone Outside Your Organization

Office 365 allows for sharing files with specific individuals inside or outside of your organization.

Use the Specific people setting to share your documents outside your organization and keep them secure.

  1. Select Share.
    1. Share Settings
  2. Select Link settings.
    1. Link Settings
  3. Choose Specific people.
    1. Specific People
  4. Decide if you want to Allow editing.
    1. Allow Access
  5. Select Apply.
  6. Add names or email addresses for who you want to share with.
    1. Names and e-mail addresses
  7.  Select Send.

The recipient will receive a link in their email that works only for them. When they select the link, they will need to verify their identity to access the file.
