Blackboard (Faculty) - Microsoft Teams: Schedule Class Sessions/Office Hours and Post the Link to Blackboard

This article provides an overview of how to schedule Teams meetings in Outlook and post the link to Blackboard.

Schedule Meeting

  1. In a web browser, navigate to Office 365.
  2. Click the app launcher (waffle menu) in the upper left corner.
  3. Click Calendar.
  4. To schedule a new meeting, click New Event.
  5. Click the toggle to turn on Teams meeting.

  6. Add a descriptive title.

  7. Choose the date and time.
  8. Click the Make recurring button and set the repeat settings as necessary.

  9. Click Save.

Copy Link

  1. Double-click the event created in the steps above.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow next to join.

  3. Click Copy join link.

Create Web Link in Blackboard

  1. Navigate to Blackboard and the content area where the web link will be created.
  2. Hover over Build Content.
  3. Click Web Link.
  4. Type a title in the Name box (i.e. Link for synchronous class sessions).
  5. Paste the URL in the URL box.
  6. Type a description in the text field. Optional: Go back to the calendar event and copy and paste the entire invitation to allow students to dial into the meeting. (see sample)

  7. Click Submit.
