Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Creating Achievements: Badges
Creating Achievements in Blackboard Ultra
Blackboard Ultra allows instructors to award students with badges to acknowledge their achievements in a course or organization. These achievements can be based on various criteria, such as completing assignments, participating in discussions, or achieving a certain score on a test.
Creating a Badge
- Navigate to your Blackboard Ultra course.
- In the Details & Actions panel on the left, under Course Content, click on the Achievements link.

- On the Achievements page, click + Add Course Badge to create a new achievement.
- On the New Achievement page, provide the following information:
- Name: Enter a descriptive name for the badge.
- Description: Provide a brief description of what the badge represents.
- Image: Choose an image to represent the badge. You can upload your own image or select one from the Blackboard gallery.
- Criteria: Define the criteria for earning the badge. You can select from options like completing a specific assignment, achieving a certain score on a test, or participating in a discussion.
- Click Publish to create the badge.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear. Badges cannot be edited once published. Confirm the information for the new achievement is correct. Next, click Confirm.

Managing Achievements
Once you have created achievements, you can manage them from the Achievements page. Click the 3 dots next to the badge to view the badge settings, view recipients, or delete:
