Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Analytics: Course Activity
Accessing Course Activity
Instructors can access the Course Activity page to view student activity and engagement in their Blackboard Ultra courses. Follow the steps below to access Course Activity:
- Navigate to the Blackboard Ultra course, and click "Analytics" in the course navigation menu.
- Under "Course Activity," the analytics on student performance and activity for the course will be shown.
Understanding Course Activity Data
The Course Activity page provides various metrics to assess student performance and engagement:
- Overall Grade: A visual representation of student grades in the course.
- Missed Due Dates: Shows how many due dates a student has missed in submitting assignments.
- Hours in Course: Shows the amount of time, in hours, a student has spent in the course.
- Days Since Last Access: Shows the amount of time, in days, it has been since a student accessed the course. This can be used to help identify a lack of student engagement from a student.
Further Considerations
The Course Activity data is intended to be a tool for instructors to improve student engagement and performance. It is important to interpret the data in conjunction with other information, such as student feedback and direct observation. The data does not provide a complete picture of student learning and should be used responsibly.
