Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Course Content: Add a Course Link in a Content Area
This article explains how faculty can add a link to existing course material within a content area or learning module in Blackboard Ultra.
Course links provide students with direct access to specific content within a Blackboard Ultra course, such as assignments, documents, and more. This guide outlines the steps to add a course link within a content area or learning module.
Adding a Course Link
- Navigate to your course in Blackboard Ultra.
- Choose the Content tab in the navigation bar.
- Within the content area or learning module, hover your mouse where you want to add the link, and then click the + icon. In the menu that appears, select Create.

- Under the Create menu, choose Link.
- In the New Link area, toggle from Web Link to Course Link.

- Search through the course content to find the item you wish to link. This can be a Document, File, Learning Module, Assessment, etc.
- Use the radio button to select the content item you wish to create a course link to. Once selected, you can adjust the display name. Optionally, add a description in the "Description" field to provide context for the link. Click Save when you're done.

- The course link will be added to the content area or learning module and is indicated with a small chain link icon near the item title.
Tips for Using Course Links
- Use clear and descriptive names for course links so students know exactly what they are clicking on.
- Group related course links together in content areas or learning modules for better organization.
- Regularly check course links to ensure they are still working and pointing to the correct content.
