This article explains how to add a new item with a file or edit an existing item's file within a Blackboard Ultra course content area.
Adding a File to the Course Content Page
To add a file to the Course Content page, use the following steps:
- Navigate to the course content page in Blackboard Ultra.
- Click the plus sign where you want to add the item. A menu will appear.
- Select Upload.

- A pop-up window appears. Select the file you want to upload. If the file is in a folder, select the folder to drill down to the item.
- Click Open.
- In the pop-up window, type a descriptive title in the "Display Name" box and use the round buttons to select one file option. Click Save.

NOTE: By default, files are marked "Hidden from students" when added to the Course Content page. Be sure to edit the file to change the visibility settings.

- Replace File: Remove the current file and upload a new one
- File Options: select view and download, view only, or download only
- Additional Tools: align with goals and standards of course
- Description: type a description to be displayed beneath the file folder on the Course Content page
