Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Course Content: Adding and Managing a Link
This article describes how faculty can add a link (URL) to a content area within a Blackboard Ultra course.
Adding a Web Link
Instructors can add web links (URLs) to their Blackboard Ultra course content areas, providing students with direct access to external websites and online resources.
Steps to Add a Link:
- Navigate to your Blackboard Ultra course.
- Select the Content tab on the top navigation menu.
- Choose the specific content area where you want to add the web link.
- Click the Plus Sign where you want to insert your Web Link. A menu will appear.

- Select Create. The Create Item panel will open.
- Under the Create column, choose Link.
- In the Display Name field, enter a descriptive name for the web link. This is what students will see.
- In the URL field, enter the full web address (URL) of the website you want to link to. Ensure the URL begins with
https://orhttp://. - (Optional) Add a description in the text box.
- Click the Save button.
Managing a Link
- You can drag and drop the link to change its position within the content area.
- To edit the link, click the ellipsis (three dots) next to the link and select Edit.
- To delete the link, click the ellipsis (three dots) next to the link and select Delete.
