Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Course Content: Remove Course Files
Removing Files from Course Content
This article will provide instructions on how to remove a file from the Course Content area of your Blackboard Ultra course. Note that removing a file from Course Content only removes the *instance* of that file. It does not delete the file itself from the course files
To Access Course Files
- Log in to Blackboard Ultra at bb.siue.edu.
- Select the desired course from the Courses list.
- In the course, click on the Ellipse menu on the right-hand side of the screen.

- Click on "Unused Files" in the drop-down menu.

- On the Unused Files page, you will see a list of files.
- Click the List View field, then select All Files from the drop-down menu.

Downloading Files
To download a file that opens in the Unused Files window:
-
- Click on the down arrow next to the file name to download it to your computer.

- Click on the down arrow next to the file name to download it to your computer.
- Check the box next to the file name to be deleted.

Deleting Files from the Course Files Repository
To completely remove a file from the Blackboard Ultra course and prevent it from being reused, follow these steps. Warning: Deleting a file in this manner will remove it from all areas in your course where it is used.
- Click on the down arrow next to the file name to download it to your computer.

- Check the box next to the file name to be deleted.

- Click the Delete Files button in the bottom right corner of the window.
- Check boxes next to files in use will be grayed out and cannot be deleted while in use in the course.

Considerations
-
- Removing a file from a specific content area only removes that *instance* of the file.
- Always double-check before deleting files to avoid unintended consequences.
