Blackboard Ultra (Students) - Discussions: Add an Image to your Discussion Post
This article explains how students can add an image to their Blackboard Ultra discussion board posts.
Adding an Image to your Discussion Post
Blackboard Ultra allows you to add images to your discussion board posts to enhance your communication and provide visual context.
Uploading an Image from your Computer
Before using this method, the image file must be saved to your computer.
- Navigate to the discussion board in your Blackboard Ultra course.
- Type a Post or Reply to a thread.

- In the text editor, click the Insert/Edit Image icon. It looks like a small picture.

- In the Insert/Edit Image window, Select the image file from your computer using the Upload file button or drag the file to the icon and drop it. The image will upload. Click Next.

- The Insert image window will allow you to zoom in on the image or change the ratio to display it best. Click Next.

- The Edit File Options window includes the Display Name field that will automatically be populated with the file name, but you may adjust that field to a more descriptive name.
- Add a description of the image in the Alternative text field. A help link is available if you are unsure how to describe an item.

- Click Save.
- Your image will now appear in the discussion post. Adjust the dimensions of the image by dragging from the corners if needed. Images should be no wider than 600px. You can now add any additional text.

- Click Post or Save to submit your discussion post with the uploaded image.
