Blackboard Ultra (Students) - Discussion Boards: Replying to a Post

This article explains how students can reply to a post within a Blackboard Ultra discussion board.

Replying to a Post

Once a post has been created in a Blackboard Ultra discussion board, you can reply to it to contribute to the conversation.

  1. Navigate to the course in Blackboard Ultra.
  2. In the course menu or the course content area, locate and click the discussion board.
  3. Click on the specific discussion to which you would like to respond.
  4. Locate the post to which you want to reply.
  5. Click the reply button under the post.

  6. A text editor will appear. In the reply box at the bottom of the thread, type your reply. You can use the text editor tools to format your reply.
  7. Click the "Reply" button located beneath the textbox to submit your reply.

Tips for Effective Replies

  • Read the existing post carefully before replying.
  • Be respectful and considerate of other students' opinions.
  • Stay on topic and contribute relevant information.
  • Use clear and concise language.
  • Proofread your reply before submitting it.
