Grading a Group Discussion

Blackboard Ultra allows instructors to grade student contributions to group discussion boards. This guide outlines the steps for grading these discussions.

Accessing the Group Discussion

  1. Navigate to your course in Blackboard Ultra.
  2. Click on the Discussions tab using the horizontal navigation menu at the top.
  3. Click on the discussion title to open it.

Grading Individual Student Contributions

  1. In the discussion, select the Grades and Participation tab to view all group members and their grading status.
  2. Click on a student's name to view only their posts within the discussion.
  3. To assign a grade, type the score in the white oval where the maximum points possible is listed.

    An oval with a blank space to enter points earned next to a slash and the total points possible. Next to it is a speech bubble with a plus sign icon to leave feedback.

  4. Click the speech box with a plus icon to provide feedback to the student.
  5. Changes should save automatically.
