This article explains how faculty can add comments to a student's journal entry in Blackboard Ultra.
Adding Comments to a Journal Entry
Instructors can provide feedback to students on their individual journal entries. This helps them to connect with their students, opens a clear line of communication, and
- Navigate to your course in Blackboard Ultra.
- In the Course Content area, click on the desired journal to open it.
- Select the Grades & Participation tab at the top of the page.
- Locate the student's name whose journal you wish to review and click their name.
- The student's journal entries will appear below the journal prompt. Click Comment below a journal entry.
- Type your feedback in the text box and use the text editor toolbar to add links, files, or audio/visual components.
- Click the Comment button to submit your comment.
- The comment now appears beneath the journal response.
Viewing Existing Comments
All comments, including your own and the student's, will be displayed below the journal entry. The author and timestamp of each comment will be visible.
Replying to Comments
- To reply to a comment from a student or another instructor, click the Reply link beneath the comment or type in the text box provided.
- A text box will appear where you can type your reply. Click the Comment button to post it.
