Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) Journals: Edit or Delete Journals
This article explains how faculty can edit or delete journal entries in Blackboard Ultra.
Editing a Journal Entry
Faculty can edit existing journal entries to correct errors or add information by following these steps:
- Navigate to the Course Content page in a specific Blackboard Ultra course.
- Locate the specific journal entry you want to modify.
- Click the ellipsis (...) on the far right of the journal entry block.
- Select Edit from the menu.

- Make the necessary changes to the journal entry content.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Deleting a Journal Entry
Faculty can delete journal entries if they are no longer needed or if they contain incorrect information. Here's how:
- Navigate to the Course Content page in a specific Blackboard Ultra course.
- Locate the specific journal entry you want to modify.
- Click the ellipsis (...) on the far right of the journal entry block.
- Select Delete from the menu.
- A confirmation message will appear. Confirm that you want to delete the journal entry.
Note: Once a journal entry is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Ensure you have backed up the content if needed before deleting.
Considerations
- Students cannot edit or delete journal entries after submission unless you allow them to.
- Deleting a journal entry is permanent. Be sure you want to delete the journal entry before confirming.
