Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Messages: Viewing Course Messages

This article describes how faculty can view messages within their Blackboard Ultra courses.

Accessing Course Messages

To view messages in your Blackboard Ultra course, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Blackboard Ultra.
  2. Select the course you want to view messages from.
  3. In the course navigation menu, click the Messages menu item. 

Navigating the Messages Interface

Once in the Messages interface, you can:

  • View a list of all course messages.
  • Open a specific message to view its content.
  • Reply to a message.
  • Create a new message.

Replying to a Message

To reply to a message:

  1. Open the message you want to reply to.
  2. Click the Reply button.
  3. Type your reply in the text box.
  4. Click the Send button.

Creating a New Message

To create a new message:

  1. Click the New Message button at the top of the Messages page.
  2. In the "To" field, select the recipients of the message. You can select individual students, groups, or the entire class.
  3. Type a subject for the message.
  4. Type the body of the message.
  5. Click the Send button.
