Supported Browsers

Blackboard Ultra is designed to work with a variety of modern web browsers. For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of one of the following:

• Google Chrome, the most recent stable version, and one preceding version.

• Mozilla Firefox, the most recent stable version, and one preceding version.

• Apple Safari for MacOS and iOS, the current version and one preceding version.

• Microsoft Edge, the most recent stable version, and one preceding version.

Note: While other browsers may work, they are not officially supported, and you may encounter unexpected behavior.

Browser Settings and Plugins

Blackboard does not require specific browser plug-ins, although added third-party content may require plug-ins to view. To learn more about Anthology's general browser support policy as well as information about JavaScript, Cookies, and other software, see the Browser Support Policy.

Recent updates to several browsers have included changes to how the browser handles third-party cookies. These changes may affect tools from other providers that integrate with Blackboard. If you have trouble accessing an integrated tool after a browser upgrade, edit your browser’s settings to allow sites to save and read cookie data. You can find instructions for  Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge online.

Blackboard Ultra is accessible from any operating system that supports the recommended browsers. This includes, but is not limited to:

• ChromeOS
• Linux

For the best Blackboard experience with your screen reader, use Chrome and Jaws on a Windows system. On a Mac, use Safari and VoiceOver.
