Reviewing Webcam Videos

  1. In the LockDown Browser Dashboard, you'll see a list of students who took the assessment.
  2. Click the + icon next to a student's name to expand their record.
  3. You will see a summary of the student's attempt, including a "Proctoring Results" column. This column will often provide a risk assessment (e.g., High, Medium, Low).
  4. Click the student's name or the risk assessment indicator. This will open the video review screen.
  5. On the video review screen, you can watch the webcam recording of the student's assessment attempt.
  6. Use the video controls (play, pause, fast forward, rewind) to navigate the video.
  7. Flagged events will be displayed beneath the video timeline and can be clicked to jump directly to that point in the recording. Events could include:
    • Student leaving the view of the camera.
    • Another person entering the view.
    • Suspicious sounds detected.
  8. You can add comments or notes to specific points in the video for your own reference or for sharing with other instructors or administrators.
  9. After reviewing the video, you can update the student's record with your assessment of their behavior during the assessment.

Understanding the Proctoring Results

Respondus Monitor automatically flags suspicious behavior during the assessment. However, it is important to review the webcam videos to make your own judgment about whether any academic dishonesty occurred.

  • High Risk: Indicates multiple flags and/or significant deviations from expected behavior. Requires careful review.
  • Medium Risk: Indicates some flags or deviations, but may not necessarily indicate academic dishonesty. Requires review.
  • Low Risk: Indicates few or no flags and generally aligns with expected behavior. May still warrant a quick review.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues accessing or reviewing webcam videos, consider the following:

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Ensure that you are using a supported web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox).
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies.
  • Contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance.
