Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Turnitin Assignments: Review a PeerMark Assignment

This article explains how faculty can review PeerMark assignments submitted by students within a Blackboard Ultra course.

Accessing PeerMark Assignments

To review PeerMark assignments, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Blackboard Ultra course.
  2. In the course content area, locate and click on the Turnitin assignment.
  3. Within the Turnitin assignment interface, click the PeerMark Assignments tab.

In the Turnitin panel, select the Peermark tab.

Reviewing a Student's PeerMark Assignment

Once in the PeerMark Assignments section, you can review student submissions:

  1. Locate the student's name whose PeerMark assignment you want to review.
  2. Click the Paper Title or the pencil icon next to the student's name.
  3. The student's submission and the feedback provided by their peers will be displayed.

Understanding the PeerMark Interface

The PeerMark interface provides several tools for reviewing submissions and feedback:

  • Original Submission: View the original paper submitted by the student.
  • Peer Reviews: Read the feedback provided by other students.
  • Grade: Assign a grade to the student based on their submission and participation in the PeerMark process (if applicable and configured in the assignment settings).
Note: This grade is separate from the grade for the original Turnitin submission.

Providing Feedback

Although students are the primary providers of feedback in PeerMark, instructors can also provide additional feedback, if desired.

  1. While reviewing the student submission, you can add comments and annotations directly on the document.
  2. You can also provide overall feedback in the designated feedback area.

Grading PeerMark Participation (Optional)

Depending on how the PeerMark assignment was configured, you may have the option to assign a grade for student participation in the PeerMark process.

  1. Locate the grading area within the PeerMark interface.
  2. Enter the appropriate grade based on the student's participation and the quality of their feedback (if applicable).
  3. Save the grade.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with accessing or reviewing PeerMark assignments, ensure the following:

  • The PeerMark assignment is properly configured within Turnitin.
  • Students have successfully submitted their papers to the Turnitin assignment.
  • The PeerMark phase of the assignment is active.
