CougarNet (Students) - Troubleshooting Proxy Access Issues
Student Action: Remove Existing Proxy
- Log in to your CougarNet account using your SIUE email address and password.
- Click the window icon in the top left, then navigate to General > Proxy Management > Proxy Management.
- Locate the proxy experiencing issues and remove their access from your account.
Student Action: Re-Add the Proxy
- From the Proxy Management screen, click Add New in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Enter the proxy's personal details.
- Select the check boxes for the specific information you wish to grant them access to view, then click Submit.
Note: Your newly added proxy will display as "Inactive" until they complete the activation steps in their email. The proxy has 5 days to complete this activation before the link expires.
Proxy Action: Activate and Set Up Credentials
Your proxy will receive three emails containing their activation link and temporary credentials. To complete activation, they must follow these steps:
- Click the activation link provided in the email.
- Enter the temporary passcode provided in the email and click Submit.
- Create a permanent login by entering their "Email", "Passcode", and a "New Password", then click Submit.
- Sign in with the new password. The proxy will be prompted to enter a few remaining personal details, such as address and contact information.
After completing this final profile setup, the proxy will have full view access to your selected student records.
Still Experiencing Issues?
If you have removed and recreated the proxy but the user continues to experience issues (such as a "revoked" message or a frozen PIN reset), please capture a screenshot of the error message. Ensure the full URL in the address bar is visible in the screenshot, and include this image when contacting the ITS Help Desk.
