Blackboard (Faculty) - Grade Center: Hide and Show Columns

This document provides an overview of how to hide and show columns in the Grade Center.

Columns in the Grade Center can be hidden from student view, instructor view, or both.

Hide Columns from Student View

  1. From the Control Panel, click on Grade Center, then Full Grade Center.

  2. Determine which column needs to be hidden. You may need to scroll to the right if your columns are not all visible.

  3. Click on the drop down menu for the column

  4. Click Hide from Students (on/off). (This will turn on the Hide from Student)

  5. A red circle will appear in column heading indicating the column is hidden.

Show Columns in Student View

  1. From the Control Panel, click on Grade Center, then Full Grade Center.

  2. Determine which column needs to be shown to students. You may need to scroll to the right if your columns are not all visible.

  3. Click on the drop down menu for the column.

  4. Click Hide from Students (on/off). (This will turn off the Hide from Student).

  1. From the Control Panel, click on Grade Center, then Full Grade Center.

  2. Determine which column needs to be hidden. You may need to scroll to the right if your columns are not all visible.

  3. Click on the drop-down menu for the column.

  4. Click Hide from Instructor View.

  5. The column will no longer be visible in the Grade Center.

NOTE: If you want to hide the column from both the student's view and the instructor's view, you must hide the column from the students view first.

 

Show Column(s) in the Grade Center

  1. From the Control Panel, click on Grade Center, then Full Grade Center.

  2. Click on Manage in the toolbar, then click on Column Organization.

  3. Identify the column(s) you wish to show. Columns that are hidden are grayed out with the word (hidden) next to them.

  4. Check the box for the column(s). You may do this process for more than one column at a time.

  5. Click on the Show/Hide button at the bottom of the page.

  6. Click on Show Selected Columns. The columns names will now be black.

  7. Click Submit at the bottom or top of the page. If you do not submit, the changes will not take effect.
