Blackboard (Faculty) - Known Issue: Cannot Edit a Duplicate Rubric in Turnitin
This document provides an overview of the work-around for editing a duplicated rubric in Turnitin.
Known Issue: Once you duplicate a Rubric in Turnitin, you cannot edit it. You will get one or both of these error messages:
Work around: Use the Rubric template, edit it, then import the new rubric.
Use this template: Rubric Template
Note: you will select points, percentage or scale for the criteria once the rubric has been imported into Turnitin.
To import a rubric:
- Open the Rubric Manager.
- Click on the import/export button to the top right (looks like an arrow pointing outwards) and select "Import..." from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the "Select File" button and locate the rubric file on your computer. Only .rbc files created within Turnitin and properly formatted .xls or .xlsx files may be imported. It is not currently possible to import other file types (such as Word documents) for use as rubrics.
- Once the file is uploaded, an "Import Complete" message appears. Click on the "View" button below the message to view the imported rubric, or click the "Back" arrow to the upper left to return to the Rubric/Form Manager.
- Add the percents, scale, or points to the criteria.
