Zoom: Using Zoom on a Chromebook

This article provides step-by-step directions for installing and signing into Zoom on a Chromebook. Zoom updates it's software on a regular basis with important security items as well as updates to features. To make sure you have the most current version, check for updates.

If you need to record a Zoom meeting using a Chromebook and you are a faculty, student, or staff with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, you will need to be granted cloud access. For cloud access, you must first sign into your Zoom account.

  1. If you have not already done so, you will need to install Zoom from the Chrome Web Store. When prompted to add Zoom, click on Add app.

  2. After Zoom has finished installing, open the Zoom app. Click on Sign In and then click Login with SSO.

  3. On the next screen, type SIUE for the company domain and click Continue.

  4. You will be prompted to sign in using your SIUE e-ID and password. Once you have signed in, you can choose to join or start a meeting.
