Adobe Creative Cloud

Follow the instructions below to install the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application that will provide access to a wide range of Adobe Creative Cloud products.

Installing Adobe Apps at SIUE

SIUE students, faculty, and staff can access Adobe applications through the SIUE Adobe App Access page. The Adobe applications available to you depend on your SIUE role and the Adobe access assigned to your account.

Step 1: Confirm the Adobe access you need

Visit the SIUE Adobe App Access page.

The page contains separate instructions for students and for faculty and staff. Follow the section that matches your current SIUE role.

Students

Current SIUE students automatically receive access to Acrobat, PDF tools, Adobe Express, document tools, and Adobe AI features. No additional action is required if those tools meet your needs.

If you need professional Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or another Creative Cloud application:

  1. Visit Adobe Creative Cloud Apps.
  2. Sign in with your full SIUE email address.
  3. If Adobe asks you to choose an account type, select Company or School Account.
  4. Find the Creative Cloud application you need.
  5. Select Request access.
  6. ITS will review the request and assign Creative Cloud access when appropriate.

Please allow up to one business day for student Creative Cloud access requests to be reviewed.

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff should use the SIUE Adobe App Access page to select the Adobe access that best matches their needs.

  • Documents, PDFs & AI: Choose this option if you primarily need Adobe Acrobat, PDF and document tools, Adobe Express, or Adobe AI features.
  • Creative & Media Apps: Choose this option if you need applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or other Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Acrobat is also included with this option.

Faculty and staff Adobe access is assigned automatically after the appropriate option is selected.

Step 2: Sign in to Adobe

After the Adobe access you need has been assigned, visit Adobe Creative Cloud.

  1. Enter your full SIUE email address.
  2. If Adobe asks you to choose between a Personal account and a Company or School account, choose Company or School Account.
  3. You will be redirected to the SIUE sign-in page.
  4. Sign in using your SIUE email address, SIUE password, and any required multifactor authentication.

Step 3: Find the application you want to install

After signing in, open the Apps section of Adobe Creative Cloud.

The applications available to you depend on the Adobe access assigned to your account.

  • Students with standard Adobe access will primarily have access to Acrobat, PDF tools, Adobe Express, document tools, and Adobe AI features.
  • Students who have been approved for Creative Cloud access will also have access to professional applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro.
  • Faculty and staff with Documents, PDFs & AI access will primarily have access to Acrobat and related document tools.
  • Faculty and staff with Creative & Media Apps access will have access to additional Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro.

Step 4: Install an Adobe application

  1. From the Adobe Creative Cloud Apps page, locate the application you want to install.
  2. Select the Install or Download option associated with that application.
  3. If prompted to download the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application, download and run the installer.
  4. Follow the installation prompts provided by your computer.
  5. After installation is complete, open the Adobe application.
  6. If prompted to sign in again, use your full SIUE email address and choose Company or School Account.

If the application you need is not available

If an Adobe application does not show an Install or Download option, your current Adobe access may not include that application.

Students: If you need a professional Creative Cloud application such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, or Premiere Pro, visit Adobe Creative Cloud Apps, find the application you need, and select Request access. ITS will review the request and assign Creative Cloud access when appropriate.

Faculty and staff: Return to the SIUE Adobe App Access page and confirm that you selected the Adobe option that best matches your needs.

Using Adobe on a university-owned computer

Some SIUE computer labs, classrooms, and shared university computers may already have Adobe applications installed. In those locations, you may only need to open the Adobe application and sign in with your SIUE account.

If Adobe asks you to choose an account type, select Company or School Account.
