Microsoft Office App (All Users) - Combine Images to Make a PDF

This document provides an overview of how to combine images and make them a PDF using the Microsoft Office App.

Instructions for iOS

  1. Make sure you are signed in with your SIUE account
    Tap the icon or image in the upper left corner of the screen. If this is a personal Microsoft account, sign out and sign in with your SIUE email and password.

  2. Tap the plus icon to choose a tool.

  3. Choose the Scan tool.

  4. Line up your document in the red/orange rectangle. Make sure you're in good lighting and avoid shadows if possible.
  5. Tap the white circle to take the image.

  6. Tap Confirm to move to the next step.

  7. Apply filter as necessary. The black and white filter is good for images that have shadows or are handwritten. Tap Done when finished.

  8. Tap the Add button to add additional pages.

  9. When you are ready to create a PDF from the images, tap the Create PDF button.

  10. Tap the upload icon in the lower right corner.

  11. Name the PDF and ensure it is being saved to your SIUE OneDrive account. Tap Upload.

  12. Access your course via a web browser. In the Blackboard assignment, click the Browse Cloud Storage button. Choose the OneDrive option. Connect to OneDrive if necessary.

  13. Find your file, select it, and click Select. Note: Select button will have the number of files selected behind it.

  14. Click the Import button.

  15. The file will now appear as an attachment. Click Submit to submit the assignment.

  Instructions for Android

  1. Make sure you are signed in with your SIUE account. You may have to tap the screen the first time you use it.

  2. Click the plus icon to choose a tool.

  3. Choose the Lens tool.

  4. Line up your document in the red lines. Make sure you're in good lighting and avoid shadows if possible. Tap the circle to take the image.

  5. Tap Confirm to move to the next step.

  6. Tap Done to move to the next step or tap Add to take more images.

  7. Select the images you wish to use, then tap the Next button.

  8. Confirm the images selected are correct then click Create PDF.

  9. Review the selected images. Apply filter as necessary. The black and white filter is good for images that have shadows or are handwritten. Tap Done when finished.

  10. Review the images and tap the Share icon in the lower right corner.

  11. Click the OneDrive icon.

  12. Once you have navigated to the folder, click the Check Mark Icon to save.

  13. Access your course via a web browser. In the Blackboard assignment, click the Browse Cloud Storage button. Choose the OneDrive option. Connect to OneDrive if necessary. You may be asked to allow Blackboard permission to access your file. Click Accept.

  14. Find your file, select it, and click Select. Note: Select button will have the number of files selected behind it.

  15. Click the Import button.
