Absence Requests - Create a Request (ITS Only)
This article describes how to create an absence request.
- Navigate to the welcome page in Teams. ITS>General channel>SIUE Absent Requests (tab at top). (Note: If the tab is not loading, click the drop-down next to the SIUE Absent Requests tab and click Go to Website.)
- Click the New Request button at the top right of the page.
- Complete the form filling in the required fields marked with an asterisk.
- Click Submit.

You will receive an email stating that your request has been submitted. A calendar event is created and the request status is updated on your In Progress tab in the Absent Requests System.

Once your supervisor has approved your request, you will receive an email confirmation and the status will be updated to Awaiting ‘Director Approval’ on the In Progress tab.

Once the director approves the request, an email is sent with an attached PDF that contains details of the Absent Request.
