Microsoft Teams - Enable Transcription
This document describes how to enable Teams automatic transcription. Transcription allows user to have a written record of spoken text captured during the meeting. After the meeting ends, the transcript can be downloaded through the Meeting recap.
As the organizer of the meeting:
- Start the Teams meeting.
- Click the More button on the Teams control bar.
- Click Record and transcribe.
- Click Start transcription.
- If you click Start recording, it will automatically start the transcription too.
- A pop-up window to select the spoken language will appear. Click the Confirm button to confirm your language choice.
- A confirmation message will appear at the top of the window saying ‘Transcription has started’ and the Transcription box will appear on the right side of your Meeting window.
- After the meeting ends, you will be able to download the Transcript from the Meeting recap window in Teams.
