Microsoft Teams - How to set up a personal meeting link
This article provides an overview of how to set up a link you can use as a personal meeting room.
Note: Using the same link for each meeting will allow anyone who has been invited to view the chat history. Consider using the Bookings feature for meetings.
Option 1: Meet Now
- Open Teams.
- Click Calendar in the left sidebar.
- Click Meet Now at the top right.
- On mobile: Tap the camera icon, then select Meet Now.
- Click Get a Link to Share.
- Click Configure meeting options to adjust:
- Who can bypass the lobby
- Who can present
- Whether to allow chat
- Copy the generated link.
- Share the link via email, chat, or calendar invite.
Option 2: Outlook (Web)
- Navigate to your calendar online.
- Click New Event.
- Add a title. (i.e.My Personal Meeting Room).
- Click the slide button to make it a Teams meeting.
- Leave the attendees field blank.
- Click Make recurring.
- Set to repeat every 1 day.
- Click Remove end date.
- Click Save.
- Click the slide button to make it an All day meeting.
- Optionally, remove the reminder and change the setting to private to avoid others viewing your meeting.
- Click Save.
- Share the link via email, chat, or calendar invite.
Option 3: Microsoft Teams Calendar
- Open Microsoft Teams and go to the Calendar tab.
- Click New Meeting.
- Add a title. (i.e.My Personal Meeting Room).
- Leave the required attendees blank.
- Click the slide button to make it an All day meeting.
- Click the drop-down for the recurrence.
- Click Custom.
- Make sure the repeat is set to every 1 day and there is no end date.
- Set the meeting options.
- Click Save.
Tips for Security
- Use the lobby settings to control who can join.
- Enable “Only people in my organization” if you want to restrict access.
- You can always remove participants or end the meeting if needed.
