How to set up eduroam on Android devices
Android 11 specific instructions coming soon. In the meantime, if trying to connect an Android 11 device, please contact the ITS Help Desk at (618)650-5500 for further assistance.
There are many variations of the Android OS. Most of the devices will follow the same setup process as described below but the screens you see may vary:
Visit https://wifisetup.siue.edu/android11/
Connect to Welcome to SIUE wifi network.
- Open the Chrome browser. You should be directed to the eduroam setup page. (If it does not automatically load, go to wifisetup.siue.edu to be redirected). You may need to click Continue, Advance, Trust, or some variation to move forward.
- Click on the link configure your device to use eduroam.
The device will list the detected operating system. Download the recommended App.
Once downloaded, click on Install to install SecureW2.
Open your web browser. Click on JoinNow
When you launch the JoinNow app you may be prompted for location permissions. You must allow these permissions to continue. Please choose an option.
Enter your Username which is your full SIUE email address and your eID password.
Next you will see this screen. Please read about forgetting the Welcome to SIUE wifi network then click next.
You will now be sent to the Wifi settings to forget Welcome to SIUE. Choose to deselect the auto reconnect option.
Use your Andriod back button to return to the JoinNow app.
And click Allow for the Allow suggested Wi-Fi networks?
Once you have successfully connected to eduroam, click on Next.
