Blackboard (Faculty) - Portfolios: Share a Portfolio with an Individual User

This document provides an overview of how to share a portfolio with an individual user (student or faculty).

  • Navigate to the Portfolio tool
    • My Portfolios in Global Navigation

      My Portfolio is the repository for your portfolios. From this page, you can also view portfolios that were shared with you.

      1. Click on the arrow next to your name in the upper right corner of the Blackboard screen.

      2. Choose Tools from the dropdown menu.

      3. Click Portfolios.


      4. You will be on the My Portfolio Page.

      Shared Portfolios

      Shared Portfolios are portfolios that Blackboard users (students or other faculty) have shared with you. To see these:

      1. Click on the Shared with Me button.

      2. Click the View link at the bottom of the shared portfolio box to open and view the portfolio.

On the My Portfolios screen (see steps above for help navigating to this screen), do the following:

  1. Click More at the bottom of the portfolio, then click Share.

  2. Click more, then click Share

  3. Click Share a Snapshot with.

  4. Click Users.

  5. Enter the user's e-ID (jsmith, not the email, Separate multiple e-IDs with a comma.
    NOTE: Be sure you have the correct e-ID. The browse button does not work to find usernames.

  6. Email Information - Optional: Check the "Send Email" box.
  7. Enter a subject and message.
  8. Check the "Send copy of message to self" box.
  9. Click Submit at the top or the bottom of the page.
