Zoom: Join Audio by Telephone (Faculty & Students)

This document provides an overview of joining Zoom audio with your telephone. The screenshots in this article may not look exactly like the version of Zoom you are running; if not, try updating Zoom on your computer.

  1. Open a Zoom meeting.
  2. A pop-up may appear asking you to Join Audio Conference by Computer. If you do not see this pop-up right away, look in the lower-left corner of your Zoom toolbar. Click the upward arrow next to the Mute button and choose Audio Options.

  3. Click the Phone Call tab on the pop-up that appears.

  4. Use your telephone to dial one of the numbers listed. When prompted, enter the Meeting ID and Participant ID you see on the screen. You will now be able to communicate in the Zoom meeting via your phone.

(Note: you can also use the Phone Call option when recording screen sharing videos. You might choose this option if your computer does not have a microphone.)
