Mac (macOS 10.12 Sierra and newer) - Locate Version and Computer Name

This document provides an overview of locating the version number and computer name of a Mac with macOS 10.12 Sierra and newer installed.

To Locate the version number and computer name of a Mac with macOS 10.12 Sierra, and newer versions, installed:

1. Locate the Menu Bar at the top of the screen and click the Apple icon


2. Click About This Mac


3. The macOS version number will dispay in the new window. To view the computer name, click System Report...


4. Locate the Computer Name in the bottom-left corner of the new window
