Blackboard (Faculty) - Known Issues: Safari Browser Automatically Unpacks Zipped Files
Safari browser automatically unzips downloaded files that appear to be "safe," including export files from Blackboard. This is a problem when you try to import the package back into a new Blackboard course because the file must remain zipped in order for the import to work.
This document provides an overview of how to fix an issue with Safari unzipping files.
This is the workaround for Mac Safari users:
- Open Safari and click on the Safari menu.
- Choose Preferences from the dropdown list.
- Click on the General tab.
- Uncheck the box “Open ‘Safe’ files after downloading.”
