Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): About

Microsoft Authenticator (MFA) adds a second layer of security, keeping your account secure even if your password is compromised. With MFA, you'll be alerted right away (on your phone) if someone is trying to log in as you.

MFA works by asking you to verify your identity using your phone.  Once you setup your phone as a form of verification, if someone steals your password, they won't be able to access your accounts unless they also have access to your phone.

Multiple layers of security:
  1. Password - something that only you should know
  2. Your Phone - something that only you should be able to access
