Blackboard (Faculty) - How Long do Courses Stay in Blackboard?
Courses are kept in Blackboard for 5 past semesters, plus the current semester (5 + 1)*. For example, in Fall 2024 these courses would be in Blackboard: Fall 2024 (current), Summer 2024 (past), Spring 2024 (past), Fall 2023 (past), Summer 2023 (past), Spring 2023 (past). Course shells outside the 5 + 1 frame will be removed from the LMS after the semester. View the table below for a schedule of 5 + 1.
Faculty are encouraged to download copies of course shells at the end of each semester to ensure the availability of that version for future use. ITS will not retain any backups or copies of courses.
