You try logging into your email account and you receive and error message that your account is locked.

If you are a current student, staff, or faculty for SIUE, your password is most likely expired.  You can go the eid Creation and maintenance page to reset your password.  www.siue.edu/eid - Select the bottom left option - I know what my password is and I want to change it. 

Once you change an expired password, you must wait 45-50 minutes for your email account to become active.  It will still continue to tell you that you are locked if you try before that time.  Everything else should work right away. 

If you are not a current student, your account becomes locked after 180 days of graduation or last class.  We do not provide permanent email addresses to Alumni.
