Accessing the Group Assignment

To access a group assignment:

  1. Log in to Blackboard Ultra and navigate to the course where the group assignment is located.
  2. In the Course Content area, locate the assignment. Your instructor might organize assignments within folders or learning modules.
  3. Click the assignment title to open it.
One Item representing a group assignment is highlighted in the Course Content menu.

Submitting the Group Assignment

Once you've accessed the assignment, follow these steps to submit it on behalf of the group:

  1. Review the assignment instructions, due date, and any associated files provided by your instructor.
  2. To add content, click the Start Attempt button. If the assignment has already been started by a group member, the button will say "Continue Attempt".
The Assignment Details page displays the assessment due date and details. On the far right under Grades/Attempts lists the maximum points and attempts. The Start attempt button is highlighted below.

  3. You can add text, files, and multimedia.
  4. To attach a file, click the Attachment button represented by a paperclip.
The text editor tool bar shows various tool buttons represented by symbols. The third from last on the right is highlighted and is a paperclip to represent add an attachment.
  5. Select Save and Close to save a draft for another group member to continue working on the assignment later.
  6. Once you have attached all the necessary files and/or typed your submission directly, click the Submit button. A confirmation message will appear.
Beneath the text box for your submission are two rectangular buttons: Save and Close and Submit.

Confirmation and Review

After submitting the assignment, verify the submission was successful:

  • Check for a confirmation message on the screen.
  • Confirm the submission by clicking the Submit button.
The dialogue box says Submit an Assignment? There is a confirmation message that states the implications of submitting the group assignment. There are two buttons at the bottom: Cancel and Submit.
