Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Tests, Forms, and Pools: Change Incorrect Answer on a Test
This article explains how faculty can correct a test question answer and adjust student grades in Blackboard Ultra.
Changing an Incorrect Answer on a Blackboard Ultra Test
If a test question has an incorrect answer, it can be changed after students have opened or submitted the test.
- Navigate to the Gradebook in your Blackboard Ultra course.
- Navigate to the Gradable Items tab.
- Select the test with the incorrect answer.
- Click on the name of the student whose grade needs to be adjusted.
- On the student's submission page, locate the question that needs to be adjusted.
- Click ellipsis (...) next to the points.
- Select "Edit/Regrade".

- Change the point value in the grade pill.

- Alternatively, use the check boxes to give full credit to everyone or extra credit.
- Edit the question text, answers, and options.
- Click the Save button.
- A confirmation box will appear. When you are sure you want to save your changes, click the Update button.
Important Considerations
- Student grades should update accordingly. However, updated grades may not appear automatically.
- Always provide clear feedback to students explaining the change in grading.
- For large classes, consider exporting the grades, making adjustments in a spreadsheet, and then re-importing the updated grades.
