ITS Labs & Classrooms - Connecting to V-Lab from Mac
The following steps provide an overview of how to connect a Mac computer to V-Lab (Remote Software Access).
Before logging in to V-Lab, ensure that Microsoft Remote Desktop is installed on the device.
If it is not installed, visit the App Store and download the newest version.
(Please Note: older versions of Remote Desktop will not work properly.)
Be prepared to enter your computer password and approve any permissions/access needed for the application.
Visit the V-Lab site at https://vlab.siue.edu and log in to the Remote Resources software service.
Click on the application you would like to open and download the file.
Open Microsoft Remote Desktop, click the configure wheel and choose "Import from RDP file."
Choose the RDP file you downloaded.
Click the pencil icon for edit on the new RDP connection option.
Choose the "Folders" tab and click the pencil icon for editing to add a shared folder between your computer and the remote computer.
Choose the folder you want V-Lab to have access to - Documents, Downloads, Desktop, etc.
Double click your new connection and enter your username and password, enter "campus\eid" as the username and then enter your password. Click Continue.
