ITS Labs & Classrooms - Connecting to V-Lab from a Mac

The following steps provide an overview of how to connect a Mac computer to V-Lab (Remote Software Access).
  1. Make sure you have the Microsoft Authenticator app installed and setup on your phone. V-Lab will not work with text or phone call two factor authentication.
  2. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the App Store.
  3. Download the SIUE RDP file.
  4. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop, click the configure wheel and choose "Import from RDP file."

  5. Choose the RDP file you downloaded.

  6. Click the pencil icon for edit on the new RDP connection option.

  7. Choose the "Folders" tab and click the pencil icon for editing to add a shared folder between your computer and the remote computer.

  8. Choose the folder you want V-Lab to have access to - Documents, Downloads, Desktop, etc.

  9. Double click your new connection and enter your username and password, enter "campus\eid" as the username and then enter your password. Click Continue.

  10. Review the MFA prompt on your phone and approve if accurate.
