Blackboard (Faculty) - Tasks: Create, Edit, and Delete Tasks

This document provides an overview of how to create, edit, and delete tasks.

Create A Course Task

Tasks added to a course will be seen by students. If you wish to make a personal task, see "Access Personal Tasks" below.

  1. From within the course, in the Course Menu, click on Tools.
  2. Click on Tasks.
  3. Click on Create Course Task button.
  4. Give the task a name.
  5. Add a description for the task.
  6. Set the Due Date and time.
  7. Set the Priority: High, Normal, or Low

Create A Personal Tasks

To add a personal task, that only you see:

  1. From the myBlackboard tab, locate the Tools module and click on Tasks.

  2. Click on Create Personal Task button.
  3. Give the task a name.
  4. Add a description for the task.
  5. Set the Due Date and time.
  6. Set the Priority: High, Normal, or Low.

  7. Click Submit at the top or bottom of the page.

Edit A Task

  1. From the Task area (personal or course tasks), hover your mouse over the title of the task and click on the drop-down menu.
  2. Click on Edit.

  3. Make changes to your task.
  4. Click Submit at the top or bottom of the page.

Delete A Task

  1. From the Task area (personal or course tasks), hover your mouse over the title of the task and click on the drop-down menu.
  2. Click on Delete.

  3. You will be asked to confirm the delete. Click OK to delete. Click cancel to return to the tasks.
  4. NOTE: deleting a task is permanent. A deleted task cannot be retrieved.
