Blackboard (Students) - Blackboard's Default Navigation / Course Menu

This document provides an overview of the Blackboard default navigation and how to utilize it.

The default Course Menu has been designed with the most commonly used tools and content areas.

Course Information

Announcements: Announcements are used to remind students about upcoming due dates, giving an update for the week, or to summarize feedback on a given assignment.

About This Course: Items such as the syllabus, contact information, textbook information, etc. are located in this content area.

Course Content

Coursework: The Coursework section contains the readings, assignments, or other information. Often items in the Coursework area are separated into week or module folders.

Discussion Board: Area for course-related discussions.

Redshelf: If the course is using an online textbook through Redshelf, students will access that textbook in this area.

Course Tools

The Course Tools section will hold other tools that the student may use throughout the semester.

My Grades: Students view their grades using this option.

Email: This tool is handy for students to use in emailing their instructors or communicating with other students in the course.

Zoom Meetings: This is the link to allow easy access to Zoom meetings being used for the course, if applicable.
