Blackboard Ultra (Faculty) - Turnitin Assignments: Edit a Multipart Assignment

This article provides an overview of how to edit a Multipart assignment created with Turnitin's integrated tool in Blackboard Ultra.

You can edit a Turnitin assignment in Blackboard Ultra by accessing the assignment's menu in your course content or launching the Turnitin LTI settings. Note that Turnitin states parts of a multipart assignment generally cannot be added, reordered, or deleted once the assignment is created, but you can edit individual settings and details per part.

Editing Blackboard-Level Settings

  1. Open your course and navigate to the Turnitin assignment. Turnitin assignments have a logo that looks like a blue rectangle with an arrow in the corner. 
  2. Click the three dots or more options button next to the assignment.

  3. Select Edit from the drop-down menu.

    Select the edit button to open assignment settings.

  4. Modify general details such as the assignment Title, Due Date/Time, Maximum Points, or Description/Instructions.
  5. Click Save when finished.

Editing Turnitin-Level Settings & Individual Parts

  1. Click directly on the Turnitin assignment title in your course content area to launch the Turnitin tool. 

    Click on the title of the assignment to open it up.

  2. Click on Edit Settings in the top right corner of the Turnitin screen.

    Click on the edit settings button to open assignment settings.

  3. Adjust available configurations for the assignment or specific parts, such as:
    • Feedback Release Dates
    • Allowing late submissions
    • Similarity Report generation settings
    • Rubrics and point adjustments
  4. Click Save Assignment to confirm your changes inside Turnitin.
