Blackboard (Faculty) - Blogs: About Blogs

This document provides an overview of blogs and how they are used in courses.
A blog is a public online writing space for students. Communication is one (student)-to-many (class). Entries are created by individual students and are visible to all members of the class as well as to the instructor. Everyone in the class may comment upon blog postings.
Sample blog assignments:
Have students reflect on a reading and then comments on other students’ blog postings to stimulate discussion on a given topic.
Assign students a journaling project with the option of commenting on each other’s experiences.
Let students use the blog as a method of planning a paper.
