Blackboard (Faculty) - Journals: Edit or Delete Journals

This document provides an overview of how to edit and manage a Journal.

Edit a Journal

  1. To edit a journal, go to the Control Panel, click on Course Tools, then click on Journals
  2. Hover your mouse over the journal title and click on the drop-down arrow. 
  3. From the menu, click on Edit.

  4. Make any changes necessary.
  5. Click Submit at the bottom or the top of the page.

Delete A Journal Entry

  1. To delete a journal entry, go to the Control Panel, click on Course Tools, then click on Journals
  2. Click on the journal's title.
  3. Under "Journal Details", click on the small arrow below your name to expand the menu.

  4. Locate the student's journal and click on the student's name.

  5. Hover your mouse over the Journal entry's title, which is in the entry area to the left of the person's name, and click on the drop-down arrow to expand the menu.

  6. Click on Delete.
  7. You will be asked if you want to delete this entry. Click OK to delete or Cancel to return to the journal entry.
  8. NOTE: Deleting a journal entry is permanent. There is no recovering a deleted journal entry.

Delete a Journal

  1. To delete an entire Journal, go to the Control Panel, click on Course Tools, then click on Journals
  2. Hover your mouse over the journal title and click on the drop-down arrow. 
  3. From the menu, click on Delete.

  4. NOTE: Deleting a Journal is permanent. There is no recovering a deleted journal. All student journal entries are deleted and are not recoverable. 
  5. To delete the Journal, click OK. To return to the journal without deleting, click Cancel
