Blackboard (Faculty) - Blogs: About Blogs
This document provides an overview of blogs and how they are used in courses.
A blog is a public online writing space for students. Communication is one (student)-to-many (class). Individual students create visible entries to all class members and the instructor. Everyone in the class may comment on blog postings.
Sample blog assignments:
- Have students reflect on a reading and then comment on other students’ blog postings to stimulate discussion on a given topic.
- Assign students a journaling project with the option of commenting on each other’s experiences.
- Let students use the blog as a method of planning a paper.
