Blackboard (Faculty) - Adaptive Release: Date and Time Restriction (Basic)

This document provides an overview of basic date and time restrictions using adaptive release.

Most content links will have a basic adaptive release to restrict the time and date that the link will be available to the students. This basic adaptive release can be found when creating the link or when editing the link in the availability section.
  1. Check the boxes to activate the availability.
  2. Set the date by clicking on the calendar icon.
  3. Set the time by clicking on the clock icon.
Date and Time Adaptive Release

NOTE: Setting adaptive release dates and times on tests only sets the date and time that the link is available to students. It does not affect the time the students can take the tests. For example:

If a student has until 5:00 pm on Friday to take a test and there is a 1-hour time limit on the test, if the student logs into Blackboard at 4:59 pm, they will still be able to access the test and have 1 hour to finish the test. The test will submit at 5:59 pm.  If the student logs in at 5:01 pm, the link will not be visible to the student.
