Blackboard (Faculty) - Turnitin Assignments: Manually Upload a Paper

This document provides an overview of how to manually upload a paper to Turnitin.

There may come a time when your students email you a copy of their paper instead of uploading it to Turnitin or you may wish to check a paper for plagiarism. You have the ability to upload the paper manually.
  1. From the Control Panel, click on  Course Tools to expand the menu. 
  2. Click Turnitin Assignments.
  3. Click on the assignment. In the case of checking a paper that was not originally a Turnitin Assignment, you must create a Turnitin assignment to have a location to upload.
  4. Above the student's names, click the Submit button.

  5. If the student is enrolled in the course, from the Author drop-down menu, select the student's name.
    If the student is not in the course, select Non-enrolled student and enter the student's first and last name in the box provided.
  6. In the Submission title box, type in the title of the paper.

  7. Click Choose from this computer button and navigate to the file on your computer.
  8. Click the Upload button to continue.
  9. The paper may take a minute or two upload. Confirm that the thumbnail is the paper you wish to upload.
  10. Click Confirm at the bottom of the page. The paper is not uploaded until the Confirm button is clicked.

  11. Print out  or save a copy of the digital receipt. Click the Go to assignment inbox to view the Originality report.
