Blackboard (Faculty) - Content Area: Mashups

This document provides an overview of how to add a Blackboard Mashup.

Mashups are outside content that Blackboard will import into your course. Mashups include these sites:

  • Flickr Photo
  • YouTube videos

Add A Photo From Flickr

  1. From within the content area (Coursework, About this Course) or from within a folder (Week 1) click Build Content on the toolbar.

  2. Click Flickr Photo.

  3. Enter a keyword into the search box.

  4. Click Go.

  5. Images matching your keyword will display.

  6. Click the Preview button to see a larger version of this image.

  7. Click the Select button to choose the image.

  8. You have the option to change the name of the image.

  9. Consider adding a description or instructions for this image.

  10. Click Submit at the top or bottom of the page.



Add A YouTube Video

  1. From within the content area (Coursework, About this Course) or from within a folder (Week 1) click Build Content on the toolbar.

  2. Click YouTube Video.

  3. Enter a keyword into the search box.

  4. Click Go.

  5. Videos matching your keyword will display.

  6. Click the URL link  to preview the video.

  7. Click the Select button to choose the image.

  8. You have the option to change the name of the video.

  9. Consider adding instructions or guiding questions for your student as they view this video.

  10. Click Submit at the top or bottom of the page.
