Blackboard assignments is a tool that allows students to upload files (Word documents, PDF files, PowerPoint files, etc.) to Blackboard. It is a more secure option than having students email files.

Creation of the assignment adds a corresponding column in the Grade Center. When grading an assignment, the grade will automatically be added to the Grade Center and students may view the grade and feedback directly in the "My Grades" area or by going back to the original assignment.

Assignments can be created for individual student upload or group upload. With a group assignment, one student in the group uploads the file. The grade assigned to the group assignment is distributed throughout the group.
